Eagles all set for Northern Tour

The Eastbourne Fineprint Eagles will complete their Away Championship League programme this weekend with matches on successive days.

The Eagles are due to land in Edinburgh on Friday (16th August), Berwick on Saturday (17th August) and Newcastle on Sunday (18th August) and look set to be followed by a large Away support at all 3 venues.

Whilst the Eagles have enjoyed a fantastic season in the Championship Shield, with a 2 legged Final at Arlington on Saturday 14th September and Leicester on the following day, and in the KO Cup, with a semi Final match with Redcar scheduled for Friday 6th September and the 2nd Leg at Arlington on Saturday 7th September, their poor Away form and unlucky 1 point Home losses to Leicester and Glasgow in their opening League Fixtures, held before the Team had fully settled; have seen them in mid table for most of the season.

Team Manager Trevor Geer though has not totally given up hope of making the end of season League Play Offs saying “mathematically if we could win these 3 Away Matches and our remaining Home League Fixtures the play offs are still possible, and we do have those 2 fantastic Arlington nights to look forwards to in September, when we want the place full and bursting for the Cup semi v Redcar and the Shield final v Leicester”.

With Club Skipper Edward Kennett unavailable for the 3 matches the Eagles will call on Wolverhampton and Somerset star Nick Morris to guest in all 3 Fixtures in a part of the world where he has a great deal of track experience.

As usual our Reporter Kevin Ling will be trackside for all 3 Fixtures with race updates available on the Clubs Social Media
