Eastbourne Face Another Tough Match

There are no easy matches in this league.

That was the warning shot out by Eastbourne Speedway joint team boss, Will Pottinger, ahead of Saturday’s match against Newcastle Diamonds.

He is looking to see his Fineprint Eagles clock up a second league win at home and climb up the league table.

Newcastle, who come to Sussex for the first time in the best part of three decades, track one of England’s top riders, Steve Worrall, who is a star in the top division for Belle Vue.

Pottinger said: “We’ll be looking to continue where we left off against Berwick.

“There are no easy matches in this league and Newcastle have some quality riders like Steve Worrall, Thomas Jorgensen and Lasse Bjerre.

“They’ll represent a good challenge for us but we will focus on getting another win and three league points.

“If we can send the Diamonds home empty handed, then that would put the icing on the cake.”

Pottinger is able to name an unchanged team.

Eastbourne v Newcastle at Arlington Stadium, on Saturday, June 8, begins at 7.30pm.

Teams:

Eastbourne:

Edward Kennett, Ben Morley, Kyle Newman, Lewi Kerr, Richard Lawson, Alfie Bowtell, Georgie Wood.

Newcastle:
