Eagles Boss Wants Fast Start

Eastbourne Speedway stage the match-of-the-season so far at Arlington Stadium on Sunday (June 30).

The Fineprint Eagles take on the Leicester Lions in the first leg of the KO Cup, quarter-final.

The home team are at full strength and are looking to build a substantial lead to take to the East Midlands for the second leg on July 5.

There is also the question of the Eagles gaining a measure of revenge for the one-point defeat they suffered at Arlington in their opening league match of the season.

Joint team manager Will Pottinger said: “There’s definitely a burning desire within the team to put right the home defeat against Leicester from earlier in the season.

“We’ll be looking to get off to a fast start and gain some early heat advantages.

“I’d certainly like a double figure lead to take into the second leg the following Friday.

It’ll be far from easy as Leicester are currently the in-form team in the Championship, so we’ll be determined to try and cause an upset.”
