Eagles extend Support Team

The Eastbourne Fineprint Eagles have extended their support team by appointing Ian Smalley as the club’s new Media Director.

Smalley worked with Director Ian Jordan during the Eagles debut Championship season, initially developing and then managing the club’s new website, along with running all social media channels and marketing activities throughout the season.

The freelance Digital Creative Director, who was the Marketing Manager at the Lakeside Hammers for ten seasons, and will also continue his work with the recently formed Thurrock Hammers and their campaign to return Speedway to Essex, commented;

“2019 was a really positive year for the Eagles in their first season back in professional speedway.

“It was a pleasure working with the Eagles Media Team of Paul Watson & Kevin Ling, and the Eagles TV team of Ken Burnett & Andy Hague, who along with Director Ian Jordan, all have a huge passion for speedway and the Eagles. ”

“Looking ahead to 2020, we have an exciting team, and have lots of ideas to implement, to continue to increase the awareness of the Eagles within the region, whilst also supporting the clubs’ initiatives such as the Community Programme, and continuing to increase the engagement between the club and the fans.”

Managing Director Ian Jordan commented “to be able to work with the fantastic and long serving Programme; Press and Media Team already in place at Arlington and to bring on board Ian Smalley and Andy Hague has been a massive benefit to the Media and Digital output of the club.”

“We have made great progress in terms of our output, content and transparency but we aspire to be the best and have a long way to go to match Clubs like Glasgow and Belle Vue in this area.”

“I believe that an independent offering that delivers unique content and media is the way forward; and Ian (Smalley) will drive and press on leading the great Team and ambitious plans that we have in 2020 and beyond. “

“We will be announcing further changes and additions to our Backroom Team in the coming weeks as we seek to deliver the same kind of fresh and exciting vibrancy off the track as we think the recently announced 2020 Team will deliver on it.”
