Eagles on Tour

Please note, your Press team is ‘on tour” so we will be unable to bring you the heat by heat details from these two matches.

We will strive to do some updates via the club Facebook page. However, the wifi at Stoke and Buxton may prove problematic.

Here’s our preview of the weekend

Another busy weekend faces the Eastbourne Forman IT Eagles.

They face two matches – both away – at Stoke on Saturday (September 8) and at Buxton the next day.

Mildenhall have already secured one of the end-of-season Play-Off spots and the race for the other three positions is intensifying.

Buxton are bottom of the table – having not registered a league point  from their ten completed matches.

Stoke are only one off the bottom with seven points from 11 matches.

However, Stoke pulled off a surprise last Saturday (September 1) when they beat high-flying Birmingham.

Eagles’ team manager Connor Dugard said the aim was to secure at least six points from the two matches.

He said: “I have told the team that is the starting point for this weekend’s mini northern tour. If we can get eight points [two victories by more than seven points], that would be brilliant.

“There’s no hiding the result at Mildenhall was a setback and this is our opportunity to forge ahead once again.”

Prior commitments mean that captain Mark Baseby is unavailable and his programmed rides will be covered by other eligible team members under the rider replacement rules.

Team: Georgie Wood, Jason Edwards, Mark Baseby R/R, Charley Powell, Tom Brennan, Ethan Spiller, Charlie Brooks.
