Kemp just misses out on U21 Podium

Eagles star Drew Kemp narrowly missed out on a podium place in the British U21 Final at Berwick last night.

In heavy conditions Kemp won his first three heats, to join Dan Bewley, Leon Flint and Anders Rowe as the meeting top scorers.

Disaster struck in heat 16 however, when the leading four riders all met, and the Suffolk based rider suffered a heavy third bend crash, after he had passed Flint to take the lead.

Despite Kemp taking a further three points in his final ride to finish with 12 points, with the start of the meeting delayed due to a Power cut, the result was called on Heat 20 due to the local curfew meaning that the semi-finals and the final cancelled.

As a result, Dan Bewley was crowned U21 Champion, with Flint second and Rowe third.

Fellow Eagle Tom Brennan had already qualified for the semi-finals at this point, riding well to finish with 10 points including a victory in his fourth ride. This included remounting for a point after a first bend fall in his first ride.

The Eagles reserve, Jason Edwards progressed as the meeting went on finishing with 6 points, including a heat victory in his fourth ride.
