Kings v Eagles KO Cup 1st leg Preview

Eastbourne Speedway’s Championship team hope to make their 2021 bow on Tuesday (May 25) at Kent.

The Eagles hopes of getting under way after 602 days on the sidelines because of Covid-19 were dashed by cloudbursts over Arlington Stadium on Saturday (May 22).

As a result, the matches against Newcastle in both the Championship and National Development League were postponed.

The match at Central Park, Sittingbourne, is the first leg of the KO Cup with the second leg at Arlington on Sunday, June 6.

Co-promoter Trevor Geer said: “We had no option other than to call-off on Saturday. The track was underwater.

“Going to Kent without a match under our belts is not ideal. We know Central Park can be a difficult place for visitors but all of us are very focussed on what we have to do.

“We need to get dialled in very quickly. It will be a battle but when has it been anything but when Eastbourne take on a team from Kent.

Eastbourne HG Aerospace Eagles: Edward Kennett, Tom Brennan, Kyle Newman, Lewi Kerr, Richard Lawson, Jason Edwards, Drew Kemp.

Information regarding tickets for Central Park can be found here.
