2021 Pricing & Tickets available for opening two fixtures

The Directors and Promoters of the Eastbourne HG Aerospace Eagles have released detailed information of how the match ticketing and pricing structure will work this season, with advance tickets for the first two fixtures also now available to purchase at the bottom of this page.

Decisions have been made in the light of probable ongoing Covid-19 related crowd restrictions for the foreseeable future.

The key points are:

  • The first home match at Arlington will be on Saturday, May 22, which is the earliest possible time after “phase three” of the lockdown restrictions are removed on Monday, May 17.
  • ALL 2020 Season and 10-match tickets will be rolled over into 2021 and can be used at any time. Your 2020 tickets are VALID and will not require a 2021 replacement. Season Ticket & 10 Match Ticket holders do not need to pre-book – just turn up with your 2020 Season ticket or 10 match Pass and go to the dedicated Season Ticket / 10 Match turnstile (which will be clearly marked).
  • ALL matches in 2021 will be ALL TICKET. Tickets must be be purchased ONLINE and in advance. There will be no “walk up or “cash or card” facility under current restrictions and regulations.
  • Crowd numbers could well be limited and tickets will be sold on a “first come, first served basis”.
  • Match tickets available from today (March 3) at the bottom of this page

The important details

We will be staging some Championship League (CL) and National Development League (NDL) “double header” meetings.

All ten-match Passes can be used for any double header fixtures in 2021 and will count as “ONE MATCH”, not two matches.

Season tickets are valid for all league and cup fixtures in both the CL and NDL. The club has two admission structures – Plan A and Plan C. We expect the season to begin with Plan C (Covid).

This takes into account heavily restricted numbers of supporters allowed into the stadium and this pricing structure will be used for all fixtures until at least June 30, 2021.

If and when the crowd restrictions and guidelines allow, we will revert to Plan A.

Plan C will provisionally allow us to stage fixtures with a crowd limit that is agreed and regulated by the local authority and other regulatory bodies. It will also be a number which is near enough to our projected Championship League break even point as sufficiently viable for us to run Speedway.

The alternative would have been for us to consider a year-long sabbatical from the Sport as some clubs have chosen to do, which was not a palatable or desired option for us.

Plan A is our “Aspiration” and based on the rates and offer made in good faith prior to the 2020 season and prior to the onset of the global Covid-19 pandemic.

This is the Plan A that we will return to as soon as restriction in crowd numbers are eased so that we can have legal and unrestricted crowds of 1,250 or more.

Director Ian Jordan commented:

“As always, we want  to be completely transparent and open with all of our supporters.

“The Coronavirus has of necessity brought changes to our Project, Plans and Projections to ensure the short, medium and long-term security of the Club and Eastbourne Eagles Limited about which we continue to have great hopes and aspirations.

“We planned and still plan to make access to everyone Under 15 FREE of charge as soon as possible but that will NOT be possible at the outset.

“This will ultimately be achieved by issuing a FREE PASS to everyone who qualifies for the scheme to come to any League and Cup (CL and NDL) staged at Arlington in 2021, and of course it is our intention to roll this out and forward into future seasons, as soon as restrictions on crowd numbers end.

“That is a promise made that we have full intentions of honouring as soon as possible when we are in a Plan A situation.”

Jordan said the restriction on crowd numbers at the start of the season was something which the club had no jurisdiction over and the Speedway needed to be 100% compliant to ensure that sporting events can continue at Arlington Stadium once the lockdown has eased.

Match tickets for the first fixtures are available from today, on a first come first served basis and there are specific terms and conditions to purchase covering your guaranteed rights in the event of abandonment, postponement or cancellation that you will have to read prior to purchase.

A copy of the terms and conditions will be sent to you electronically after purchase and are also available here for your perusal at all times on the Club website.

He went on: “The financial facts are that we will need to optimise a financial return from everyone who enters the stadium for the foreseeable future.

“Our loyal Season Ticket and 10-match ticket holders will take first priority in terms of the allocation of available crowd limits.

“ Season Ticket and 10-Match Ticket holders do not need to pre-book – just turn up with your 2020 Season Ticket or 10 Match Pass and go to the dedicated Season Ticket / 10 Match ticket turnstile, which will be clearly identified.

“We cannot, unfortunately, have a scenario at this time where a significant part of the crowd has made no financial input into the crowd limit for the event.

“That said we remain committed to attracting and enjoying the patronage of everyone from the very young to our older and often loyalist of supporters.

“We have, therefore, amended prices for Under 15s and kept pricing for those aged 5 to 15 as low as we possibly can, whilst still having a “free element” for Under 5s.

“Prices for ALL other groups remain unchanged from our planned 2021 Pricing in Plan A.

National Developement League only fixtures

Eastbourne now have an NDL Team. For “standalone” NDL fixtures we have set pricing at a market leading £10 in both Plan A and Plan C.

“This is a price and a structure that has long been considered the benchmark for “development level” racing and we are happy and proud to implement it,” Jordan said.

There are several Championship teams also entering the NDL in 2021 and it is sensible and cost effective for the away team to run double-headers when possible in this scenario, as we will do when visiting Armadale, Berwick and Newcastle on our Northern Tour at the end of August as an example.

When we stage a double header we will have 30 heats of exciting and competitive Speedway,

Jordan said: “We will endeavour to have both fixtures staged in under three hours and the pro rata price for the NDL element in any double headers will be effectively no more than an extra £6 for adults.

“Children in Plan A and Plan C will pay the same admission price as they would for just a Championship fixture.

“The NDL product will be both competitive and exciting but also fundamental to the next generation of Championship level Eagles of the future.”
