8pm Start for First Arlington Match

Eastbourne Speedway’s return to professional speedway is just over a fortnight away.

It is tapes up at 8pm on April 6 for the match against Birmingham in the Championship Shield.

The start time has been put back 30 minutes to allow fans to travel after watching the TV coverage of Brighton and Hove Albion FC’s cup clash on the same day.

The Seagulls have reached the FA Cup semi-final and the match will be shown on the television in Arlington Stadium clubroom.

Turnstiles will open at 5.15pm.

Will Pottinger

Meanwhile, the Eastbourne Fineprint Eagles’ intention to build a bright future has been boosted by the news that Will Pottinger will join Trevor Geer on team management duties.

Eastbourne director of speedway, Jon Cook, said: “It is very exciting to have Will onboard.

“He is one of the most talented and youngest team managers around.

“Will has excellent knowledge, a great will to win and a laid back manner which will fit in well at Arlington.

“Importantly, he is also active in the National League and will be looking after Tom at Cradley.

“It’s rather a nice touch to have that tie up, as obviously the Heathens are the only team who dislike Wolverhampton more than us.”
