Eagles head to Scunny

Eastbourne head to Scunthorpe tonight (June 28) in search of their first away league points of the season.

They go into the match buoyed by a huge win against the north Lincolnshire club at Arlington Stadium last Saturday.

Joint team manager, Will Pottinger, said losses at home to Glasgow and Leicester had put the club on the back foot.

Everyone was focussing on finding success away from Arlington to try and get into Play Off contention.

“We will do our best to get as many points as we can and see if we can get in that top four.

“It’s a marathon, not a sprint,” he said.

“We need to up our game away from home with a bit more belief.

“This is an opportunity to maybe get a point or two. We have to win away from home if we are going to finish in the Play Offs.”

The Eastbourne team is unchanged whilst the Scorpions bring in last year’s skipper Steve Worrall as a guest for the injured Jason Garrity, while Joe Lawlor will guest for the retired Josh Bailey.

Teams:

Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Josh Auty, 2. Danny Ayres, 3. Steve Worrall (guest), 4. Stefan Nielsen, 5. Jake Allen, 6. Joe Lawlor (guest), 7. Ryan Kinsley.

Eastbourne Fineprint Eagles: 1. Richard Lawson, 2. Ben Morley, 3. Kyle Newman, 4. Lewis Kerr, 5. Edward Kennett, 6. Alfie Bowtell, 7. Georgie Wood.
