The Directors, Management and Riders of Eastbourne HG Aerospace Eagles and the Eastbourne Seagulls MSDL squad, powered by the “Save Thurrock Hammers” Campaign, wish all of our Sponsors, Supporters and Speedway Fans everywhere a Very Happy Christmas and hopefully a safe and Happy New Year.
The past 12 months have been unprecedented and recent developments suggest that the start of 2021 is going to be equally tough.
We are naturally concerned that many of our Sponsor and Supporter base are now living in Tier 4 Areas, and the vast majority of the remainder in Tier 2 areas.
Please follow the guidelines and stay safe; our thoughts and good wishes are with you all.
Whilst things are not good at the moment, as the saying goes “it’s darkest before dawn” and we sincerely hope to see you all in the Spring of 2021 for some Speedway action.
Hopefully we will be able to return to a safer and more traditional way of life once the extensive planned vaccination programmes and hopefully warmer weather have had a chance to work their magic.
It’s time to knock Covid 19 firmly on the head.
We are working right now with other Championship clubs and the BSPL to have a credible fixture list that can be announced early in 2021 with Covid-19 contingencies built in.
We would thank the BSPL for all of their hard work in an incredibly tough period for all sports.
Our initial target has been to start competitive Speedway on Good Friday, April 2, with an exciting Challenge Match and we will continue to monitor that once we get into 2021, and things become clearer.
We are aware that current BSPL planning is for The Championship season to commence in early May 2021.
We look forward to that and to also including, we hope, a couple of exciting and exclusive fixtures to our list in due course, including the long awaited, and often delayed 90th Anniversary Meeting and Ex-Riders Reunion Event in early September.
We remain 100% committed to rolling all ongoing Sponsorships and Advertising over to 2021 and to honouring:
- All 2020 Full Season and 10 Match Tickets in 2021 on exactly the same terms as they were initially sold.
- The pledge made consistently and continually in 2020, of refunds being available, to anyone, Sponsor / Advertiser or Supporter; who feels in a position of financial difficulty.

We cannot wait to see our exciting seven-man ALL British declared 1-7 in Championship action and equally we are very excited about our MSDL Seagulls squad of talented riders, including the ground-breaking female rider, Francesca Wright.
It’s possible that we may have a few other surprises in store, depending on developments closer to the start of the 2021 season.
At a time when so many of us will be unable to see our loved ones and friends, please spare a thought for those who are local to you who may be vulnerable and / or lonely and check on them when it is safe to do so.
There has never been a more important time for “togetherness”.
