Two Eagles in British Final – will there be more?

Two Eastbourne Eagles have been named in the line-up for the British Final to be held at Ipswich later this month.

Richard Lawson and Lewi Kerr were some of the first riders announced – further finalists are being announced during the course of this week.

Kerr said: “I’m absolutely made up, not only for us riders getting a meeting in, but for the fans.

“It’s a real bonus for them in these terrible times to not only get some racing to watch, but a prestigious event like the British Final.

“I’ll go there and give it my all.”

Richard Lawson’s participation was confirmed when SpeedwayGB made its initial announcement that the final would go ahead, but with a lower crowd number than initially anticipated.

The final will be on Saturday, September 26, at Ipswich before a Covid-19 restricted crowd of 1,000, with the BSPL announcing that a live stream will be available for the meeting (first race 7.45pm) For full information regarding the stream, please click here

The 2020 Eastbourne HG Aerospace Eagles team is all British but fans will have to wait to see whether any more of their favourites emerge as competitors in the coming days as the line-up is announced one rider at a time.

Robert Lambert and Craig Cook have confirmed they will not take part in the event.
